Turtle Pie – Creative Day 4

I used to dislike cooking, because it can be such a chore!  I’m getting better at it and we’ve started experimenting with recipes quite often.  {My favorite site is allrecipes.com}
It makes it much more fun when my hubby & I cook together, which has been happening a lot more.
I believe that cooking is as much a creative art as anything.
For Day 4, we decided to try a recipe that Jeb found online a few weeks ago:

Turtle Pie




Desserts aren’t something we make as much, but I did try to make a chocolate pudding pie a while ago and I didn’t like it very much.  After that experience, I was a little skeptical of another chocolate pudding recipe.  It turned out to be really good!

If you’re interested, it’s a very simple recipe.

Ingredients:
Graham cracker crust
Chocolate pudding mix
Milk
Caramel
Pecans {approximately 1/2 C. chopped}
Chocolate chips

Start with a graham cracker crust.
Spread caramel in about 1/4″ thick layer on the bottom of the crust.  
Crush 1/4 C. pecans & cover the caramel.

Follow pudding recipe on box.  (Boil pudding mix & milk)
Pour pudding into the pie and refrigerate until cool.
Spread whipped cream in a layer over top of chilled pie.  
Chop the rest of the pecans & chocolate chips & sprinkle on as top layer.
Voila!

Just cut & serve!
Quantities really don’t matter.. we improvised.
I’m sure that you could add more chocolate to the top, but I think it was just right.
